“My stick is better than bacon” points to “My Stick,” a Bad Lip Reading comedy song set to a Star Wars scene featuring Yoda and Luke. An interview account connects its stick premise to the earlier Bad Lip Reading video “Seagulls.” The available evidence confirms some listener discussion by January 2020, but it does not establish how widely the song spread or how many views it received.
What is “My Stick”?
“My Stick” is a Bad Lip Reading comedy piece that recasts a scene from The Empire Strikes Back. In the interview transcript, the scene is described as Yoda singing to Luke while Luke runs through the Dagobah jungle with Yoda on his back. The phrase “My stick is better than bacon” is a way some people refer to the song, not a separate product or a verified alternate title.

The interview account traces the idea to “Seagulls,” a preceding Bad Lip Reading piece. The speaker describes noticing a tiny stick beneath a log and says that story led to “My Stick.” This is an account of the creative premise in the interview, not an independently documented production history. Why the video matters to the joke
The song’s effect depends partly on the images it accompanies. The interview describes Bad Lip Reading as a constraint exercise: the creator fits absurd dubbed phrases to the existing film footage. That pairing gives the song its visual comedy; the lyrics alone do not capture the full mechanism. The explanation is the interview participant’s description of the process, rather than a separate production record.

Was “My Stick” really viral?
There is a small, dated example of audience discussion: a Reddit post from January 17, 2020 includes a listener describing the song as a good song and a good meme. That shows that at least one person was discussing it by that date; it is not representative popularity data. See the Reddit post.
The available sources do not establish the original upload date, a view-history series, a peak period, or an audience statistic for “My Stick.” Consequently, “viral” is not a measured description here: the evidence supports a documented creative context and an anecdote of discussion, not a claim about the scale of its reach.

Don’t confuse it with “Better Than Bacon”
A Shazam listing titled “Better Than Bacon” credits King Kersh, gives a release date of July 22, 2020, and includes a Bad Lip Reading songwriting credit. It is a separately titled listing and does not establish when Bad Lip Reading’s “My Stick” was released. View the Shazam listing.
