George Clooney’s publicly documented cars make for an eclectic story, but they do not establish a complete or current inventory. Esquire’s 2013 profile described a gray Lexus, a black Porsche Carrera and a red 1959 Corvette tied to Clooney’s family; earlier comments also placed him behind the wheel of electric cars, including a Tesla Roadster he later sold.
What cars have been reported in George Clooney’s garage?
The clearest published snapshot comes from Esquire’s 2013 profile, which described three cars: a gray Lexus, a black Porsche Carrera and a red 1959 Corvette convertible. That is a dated account, not a verified list of what Clooney owns today.

Why the Corvette is the garage’s standout
The Corvette’s significance is less about its place in a celebrity-car lineup than its family history. Esquire reported that Nick Clooney bought the red convertible new in 1959, when he was working as a radio broadcaster in Lexington, Kentucky, and described the car as original to the family.
In a 2020 British GQ feature, Nick recalled: “George always coveted my 1959 Corvette, which I bought to court my wife.” Nick said he had been reluctant to let his son drive it, then later had it refurbished and sent to California as a Christmas gift. The account explains the car’s personal connection, but does not establish its present ownership or location.

Clooney’s electric-car chapter
In a 2011 interview with Motorradonline, Clooney said he had a Tesla in Los Angeles and owned a Lexus hybrid; he also said he had previously had a Tango, a compact electric car. These comments document what he reported at the time, not what remains in his garage today.
The Tesla Roadster was sold in 2012
Gooding & Company’s auction record identifies Clooney’s car as a 2008 Tesla Roadster Signature, the eighth production Tesla, owned by him since new. It records the car as sold at Pebble Beach Auctions in 2012 for $99,000, with proceeds benefiting the Satellite Sentinel Project.
A Los Angeles Times preview of the auction described the project as using satellite monitoring to document violence and tensions near the Sudan–South Sudan border. The Roadster belongs in the history of Clooney’s cars, not in a present-tense list of his collection.

Taken together, the accounts point to a varied mix: a family-linked American classic, a Porsche Carrera, a Lexus and a period of interest in electric vehicles. They do not establish how many cars Clooney owns now, whether the 2013 Lexus and Porsche remain with him, or a total value for his collection. The most accurate description is a set of cars documented or mentioned at different times, rather than a definitive current garage inventory.
