Their main disagreement is whether those decisions create enough meaningful branching to make the experience satisfying.
What is The Complex?
The Complex is an adventure game developed and published by Wales Interactive. GameFAQs’ listing and collected review excerpts characterize it as a choice-driven, live-action interactive movie, with a relationship mechanic and multiple endings. Those descriptions come from the listing and reviewers, rather than independent hands-on testing for this article.
Its appeal therefore depends less on conventional action or exploration than on the story, performances, and the consequences players perceive in their decisions. Critics have assessed it along those lines, but their reactions differ.
What do reviews say about its choices and story?
Review excerpts collected by GameFAQs show a divide over how much decisions change the experience. Some critics praise the interactive premise, plot influence, or replay value; others question whether many choices matter or whether the branching feels substantial.

- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
Gameblog.fr points to replay value and nine endings, while criticizing the writing and effects. FNintendo says choices influence the plot but wishes for a flowchart to track decisions and fewer clichés. Cubed3 and DarkStation question the impact of many choices. Xbox Tavern is more positive about the story and variety. These are individual critical judgments, not a single consensus score.
How meaningful do the choices feel?
The key question is not simply whether the game offers choices, but whether they feel consequential as the story unfolds. The collected reviews suggest players looking for extensive, clearly visible branching may find the experience limited; those drawn to following a story through different decisions may value the interactive format even when the consequences are debated.

How strong are the performances and presentation?
The live-action format makes the cinematic presentation and performances central to the experience. Gameblog.fr’s excerpt criticizes the effects, while the available excerpts do not establish a shared verdict on the performances. Expect reactions to depend on how much you enjoy an interactive movie’s filmed storytelling rather than a more conventional game structure.
Is it worth replaying?
Gameblog.fr cites nine endings as part of the replay appeal. That gives players a reason to revisit the story, but the number of endings alone does not establish how different each route feels. Reviewers’ mixed comments on branching make replay value a matter of whether you enjoy exploring alternate decisions, rather than a guarantee of dramatically distinct playthroughs.

Which platforms is The Complex on?
GameFAQs lists platform pages for PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, and Xbox One. A platform listing does not confirm that the game is currently purchasable in every region or storefront, so check the relevant store before buying. The Steam listing could not be verified for current price or purchase availability because the page redirected to an age-check screen.

Who is The Complex for?
It is most likely to appeal to players who want a cinematic, decision-led story and are curious to see how alternate choices play out. If you need frequent choices to create clearly distinct branches, the criticism that many decisions have limited impact is worth taking seriously. If the interactive-movie format itself is the draw, the favorable comments on plot influence, story variety, and replay value may be more persuasive.
