Time+Tide Watches identified the piece as the Jacob & Co. Billionaire, describing it in a July 27, 2020 feature as a one-of-a-kind watch produced with Italian businessman, fashion label owner and Formula 1 personality Flavio Briatore. The feature reported a 47.5mm case and an integrated bracelet set with 239 emerald-cut baguette diamonds, with a manually wound tourbillon inside. Where did the $15 million question come from?
BetOnline’s July 24, 2020 promotional article described a Mayweather and Yuna “The Ice Is Right” feature and presented the Jacob & Co. Billionaire as an over/under bet at $15 million. Its article attributed a statement that Mayweather had paid $18 million for the watch. That is BetOnline’s account of a prior statement, not independent verification of a transaction or an appraisal.
