What happens in the Damsel trailer?
Netflix published the official trailer on February 13, 2024. Its synopsis says Elodie agrees to marry a prince, then learns the royal family has recruited her as a sacrifice to repay an ancient debt. The setup borrows the shape of a fairy tale—a young woman marries into royalty—then turns it around. Rather than waiting for rescue, Elodie has to face the danger herself.
Why are people comparing Elodie to Eleven and Cersei Lannister?
A February 13, 2024 report by DeepNewz attributes the wording “It might as well be Eleven vs. Cersei Lannister in the official trailer for Netflix’s Damsel” to a verified BGR post. That is outside commentary, not Netflix’s description of the story. Eleven is a character from Stranger Things, while Cersei Lannister is from Game of Thrones; neither appears in Damsel. The quip frames the trailer through familiar characters, but the film itself is about Elodie and the dragon. DeepNewz’s report on the wording.

Who is Elodie, and what kind of film is Damsel?
Millie Bobby Brown plays Elodie. Netflix Tudum describes her as a princess whose prince sacrifices her to a dragon, presenting the story as a reversal of the traditional fairy tale.
