Public sources document several ways he has earned money over his career, but they do not provide an itemized account of what he currently spends or owns. The Trevor Noah Foundation publishes separate organizational finances; those figures are not Noah’s personal spending.
How much is Trevor Noah worth?
A 2021 South China Morning Post article reported an estimated net worth of US$100 million. The article attributes the estimate to other reporting and does not present an audited balance sheet or a financial disclosure from Noah. It is best understood as an older media estimate—not a confirmed measure of his current wealth. South China Morning Post, 2021

That distinction matters because a public figure’s wealth estimate is not the same as cash on hand. It may rely on reported earnings and assumptions about taxes, expenses, investments, and assets that are not publicly itemized. The reviewed sources do not establish Noah’s current net worth.
How did Trevor Noah make his money?
Noah’s career spans South African entertainment, stand-up comedy, television, books, hosting, and production. These are documented professional channels, but public reporting does not establish how much each contributed to his present wealth.
#1 Best Overall
South African entertainment and stand-up
Before becoming widely known to US audiences, Noah built a career in South African entertainment and comedy. Stand-up touring later became another source of career income. Older reports about touring or earnings should be read as historical accounts, not added together as if they were a current financial statement. South China Morning Post, 2021
The Daily Show and other hosting work
Noah hosted The Daily Show from 2015 to 2022. Media coverage has discussed historical salary estimates, but the reviewed evidence does not establish current television earnings or the terms of any present contract. His later hosting work is part of his public career, not proof of a particular current income level. Associated Press

Books and production
Noah’s memoir, Born a Crime: Stories from a South African Childhood, is a relevant part of his public career. The Guardian describes it as a bestselling memoir, but that fact alone does not establish the book’s earnings or explain how Noah spends his money. The Guardian interview
Noah’s official biography documents his production company’s work in film, television, and gaming. That establishes professional activity, but not the company’s revenue or the value of Noah’s ownership stake. Trevor Noah’s official biography

What does Trevor Noah spend his money on?
No verified, current personal spending ledger appears in the reviewed sources. They do not itemize his present purchases, residences, vehicles, investments, or other personal assets, so claims about specific spending categories would go beyond what is established.
The 2021 South China Morning Post article recounts Noah saying that, before moving to the United States, he already had “homes and my cars and my nice things” in South Africa. This is a past statement about an earlier period, not a current inventory of his property or vehicles. South China Morning Post, 2021

What the Trevor Noah Foundation’s finances show—and what they don’t
The Trevor Noah Foundation is an education-focused nonprofit, not a window into Noah’s personal budget. Its 2024 report lists income of ZAR 53,442,263 and expenses of ZAR 42,639,535 for the South African entity for the year ending 31 December 2024. The Foundation states that its South African and US entities are separate organizations. These are organizational totals, not Noah’s personal donations, expenses, or share of his estimated wealth. The Khulani Nathi Innovation Fund
On 3 April 2025, the Foundation announced the Khulani Nathi Innovation Fund, a R30 million ($1.75 million) initiative to provide flexible funding to South African education nonprofits working on teacher development and youth opportunity pathways. The dollar equivalent is the Foundation’s wording in its announcement. The Foundation also invited philanthropists and corporate partners to co-fund the fund or create complementary initiatives; the announced amount should not be presented as Noah’s personal contribution.
