What happens in the released Thunderbolts* credits scenes?
After the team helps save New York from the Void, Valentina Allegra de Fontaine presents them to the public as the New Avengers. The reveal also connects to the film’s asterisk and its end-credit title treatment, as described in Time’s coverage of the release.

Post-credits: a ship approaches Earth
The post-credits scene jumps forward fourteen months. At the former Avengers Tower, the team discusses its standing and a legal dispute over the Avengers name. An alert then warns of an extra-dimensional ship approaching Earth, teasing a connection to the Fantastic Four. These are two distinct released scenes; the guinea-pig idea described below is not one of them.

Interview coverage says Schreier included the New Avengers reveal in his initial pitch. The same reporting says the script changed substantially from that pitch, so the early presence of the reveal does not establish that the finished film’s scenes or every story beat were fixed at the outset. An alternate credits idea featured the guinea pig
Separate interview coverage attributes an earlier credits concept to the guinea pig wandering through the Void’s shame-room landscape. That is best described as an alternate idea, not a confirmed deleted scene: available reporting does not establish that it was filmed or provide a complete account of its dialogue or construction. Why the original idea and final tag should not be conflated
Schreier reportedly said the specifics of the final end-credits scene came together late, and that it was shot about a month before theatrical release. That production detail concerns the particular final tag, not the New Avengers identity as a core reveal. The evidence therefore supports two separate points: the reveal was in the initial pitch, while the post-credits scene that teases the approaching ship took shape much later.
