The Bad Shepherd is a 2024 mystery thriller about a hunting party whose trip unravels after the friends accidentally hit a woman carrying a bag of money. The film was directed by Geo Santini and written by Ryan David Jahn. This guide gives a spoiler-free overview first, then a clearly marked discussion of the ending interpretation.
What is The Bad Shepherd about?
During a hunting trip, a group of friends accidentally hits a woman who has a bag of money. Their attempt to handle what happened turns the group against itself: guilt and suspicion grow, while a mysterious pursuer adds another threat. That is the film’s central setup, rather than a documentary account of real events.

Where can you watch The Bad Shepherd?
Listings surfaced by Rotten Tomatoes report Disney+ and Hulu subscription access and a Fandango rental or purchase option. S&R Films also says the film can be watched on Amazon Prime. These are reported viewing options, not a guarantee that the title is currently available in every country or on every plan. Check the service in your territory before subscribing or paying to rent or buy.
Who is Sidney? Spoilers
Secondary ending explainers interpret Sidney as a supernatural or Satanic figure and read the money as bait in a destructive test of the friends. That is an interpretation of the story, not a confirmed statement of filmmaker intent. The available official-style catalogue summaries establish the hunting-trip premise, but do not settle that reading. For a spoiler-free experience, stop here.

Is the film well reviewed?
One review at One Guy’s Opinion is sharply negative. That is one critic’s judgment, not evidence of a settled critical consensus; the Rotten Tomatoes listing surfaced only a small number of critic reviews, and its count may change.
