The Game compared himself with Eminem during an appearance on Drink Champs, then released “The Black Slim Shady,” a diss track directed at Eminem, on his album Drillmatic: Heart vs. Mind. Why did The Game target Eminem?
He saw it as a challenge
The Game said that relatively few people take on Eminem, making him a difficult and conspicuous target. That helps explain the competitive appeal of the diss, but it does not establish that competition was his only motive. He invoked Dr. Dre
The Game also tied his decision to his relationship with Dr. Dre. Dre’s place in The Game’s career and Eminem’s connections to Dre formed part of the context he raised. He connected Eminem to the 50 Cent feud
The Game’s account also drew on his long-running conflict with 50 Cent, with whom he had a major public falling-out after his early G-Unit period. Because Eminem was aligned with 50 Cent, The Game said that relationship factored into his choice of target. He also expressed respect for Eminem’s career, according to iHeart’s account. The 50 Cent feud is therefore relevant context, but it does not by itself explain the diss: The Game also described the challenge and invoked Dr. Dre.
Was the Eminem diss really about 50 Cent?

Is The Game still feuding with Eminem?
The documented record supports a public diss and The Game’s reported explanations for it. It does not establish an ongoing mutual personal feud as of October 2026, or provide an Eminem statement settling how the dispute began. It is more precise to describe this as The Game’s 2022 public attack and the reasons he gave for it than to assume the two artists are currently engaged in a feud.
