Brent Hatley said he left SiriusXM because he was ready to do his own thing. He also denied that jokes about his wife, Katelyn, and the Jackhammer prompted his departure. That is his public explanation; available reporting does not establish whether private employment circumstances also played a part.
What Hatley said about leaving
On March 11, 2020, Hatley announced that he was leaving SiriusXM and thanked Howard Stern and the staff of the Howard Stern channels. His announcement also previewed plans for a Twitch channel featuring specialty shows, including one involving Katelyn. Those were his plans at the time, not confirmation of the channel’s current availability. Distractify reported the announcement.

In a response to a follower who asked whether he quit because Howard and others had teased him about Katelyn and the Jackhammer, Hatley replied: “Not at all. I’m ready to do my own thing. We’re on good terms with everyone including the Jackhammer.” Distractify reported the Instagram exchange on May 28, 2020.
Why the Jackhammer speculation arose
Hatley and Katelyn’s swinging life had been discussed on the show in 2019. In November, Hatley said their experiment of living separately in Los Angeles and New York had gone too far and that they had decided to do things together. The show’s official archive also documents coverage of the couple and the Jackhammer that year: a November 4, 2019 segment about the on-air dispute and coverage of Hatley’s comments about their separate-city experiment.

That history explains why fans asked about a connection, but it does not establish one. Hatley specifically denied that those discussions were the reason he quit. The archive’s earlier material documents show coverage, not his motive for leaving months later.
