Three high-profile series are scheduled to arrive in October 2026: East of Eden on Netflix on October 1, Carrie on Prime Video on October 7, and VisionQuest on Disney+ on October 14. “Most anticipated” is an editorial judgment, not an objective ranking: no comparable October-only poll or audience-intent measure establishes a definitive top three.

What to know about each October show
East of Eden: literary drama on Netflix
Netflix lists East of Eden for October 1. TVLine describes the series as a seven-episode binge and a modern interpretation of Steinbeck’s story about the Trask family across generations, with a new focus on Cathy Ames, played by Florence Pugh. It adapts familiar source material rather than promising a scene-for-scene version of the novel. If you want a complete series to watch at once, this is the only title in this trio whose cited schedule specifies a binge format.
Carrie: Stephen King’s novel becomes a TV series
Carrie premieres on Prime Video on October 7. Amazon calls it the first television-series adaptation of King’s debut novel. Mike Flanagan is the showrunner, writer, and director; Summer H. Howell plays Carrie White and Samantha Sloyan plays Margaret. Amazon’s description sets up a misfit student isolated by her mother who faces bullying and social-media cruelty after entering public high school, as telekinetic powers emerge.

If you want to compare the series with its source, King’s original Carrie is a 1974 novel. Amazon’s 2026 feature says the book spent 14 weeks on The New York Times bestseller list; that is Amazon’s reported figure, not a measure of interest in the new series.
VisionQuest: a Marvel series on Disney+
Disney’s October schedule lists VisionQuest as a Disney+ premiere on October 14, and TV Insider also includes it among the month’s notable streaming offerings. The available schedule information confirms the date, platform, and Marvel-series context; it does not establish an episode count, release cadence, cast, or plot details. Check Disney+ in your territory for local availability and scheduling.

- Choose VisionQuest if you’re looking for a Marvel series and have Disney+ access where you live.
Why these three are “notable,” not an objective top three
October schedules and entertainment roundups identify releases likely to interest viewers, but there is no shared October-only ranking or comparable audience-intent data here to prove these are the three most anticipated shows. This selection uses recognizable literary or franchise connections and confirmed dates as a practical guide to three high-profile premieres—not as a measured popularity ranking. TV Insider’s October streaming guide also highlights VisionQuest, but that editorial inclusion is not a survey result.
The cited dates reflect schedules checked on October 8, 2026. Because the first two premieres have already passed by then, consult each service’s current listing to confirm whether the series is available in your country.
