Those were dated chart positions, not evidence of today’s rankings or availability.
What each documentary series covers
Dancing for the Devil: The 7M TikTok Cult
The series follows TikTok dancers connected to 7M Films, a management company associated with a church. Netflix’s synopsis, as reproduced by BGR, says: “After TikTok dancers join a management company and its associated church, unsettling details and their dark realities come to light.” BGR’s June 2, 2024 article identifies sisters Miranda and Melanie Wilking as central to the story, including Miranda’s growing involvement with the company and her eventual loss of contact with her family.
The documentary presents allegations of brainwashing and extreme religious teachings. These are claims featured in the series, not facts independently established by the cited article. The story’s focus is the intersection of dance culture, management, religion and a family’s account of separation.
Ashley Madison: Sex, Lies & Scandal
This series examines Ashley Madison, a website built around facilitating extramarital affairs, and the leak that exposed members’ information. BGR says it includes interviews with former employees and clients. Its subject is not only the site’s business, but also the relationships and motives behind its users’ decisions.

Director Toby Paton framed that approach in comments quoted by BGR: “Rather than berating people who joined Ashley Madison, we were much more interested in exploring why they were drawn to the site. What were they looking for? What was going on in their relationships? And, crucially: What was their partner’s side of the story?”
How the two series differ
| Series | Central subject | Story angle |
|---|---|---|
| Dancing for the Devil: The 7M TikTok Cult | TikTok dancers, 7M Films and an associated church | Management, religion and the Wilking sisters’ family story; allegations are presented as claims in the documentary. |
| Ashley Madison: Sex, Lies & Scandal | An affair-focused website and the leak of member information | The company, former employees and clients, and questions about users’ relationships and partners’ perspectives. |
They are distinct kinds of documentary: one follows a family’s account amid a social-media and religious setting; the other investigates an online business and the human consequences around its use and data leak. The cited article does not establish a reliable comparison of runtime, episode count or audience totals.

What the 2024 chart positions and membership figure mean
BGR reported Dancing for the Devil at No. 1 and Ashley Madison at No. 9 on Netflix’s U.S. daily Top 10 when its article was published on June 2, 2024. Those placements describe that chart snapshot only. They do not establish current rankings, current availability, or what viewers in other regions can watch.
Paton was also quoted as saying Ashley Madison had “37 million members.” BGR attributes that figure to the director in 2024, but supplies no measurement date or methodology. Treat it as his attributed statement, not a current membership count or an independently verified statistic.
