Stormy is a 2024 documentary about Stormy Daniels, streaming on Peacock. Directed and produced by Sarah Gibson, it follows Daniels beyond the Trump story, placing her personal life, work and experience of public scrutiny and litigation in a wider portrait. The film runs 1 hour 50 minutes.

When the film presents Daniels’s recollections of her encounter with Trump, they should be understood as her account, as represented in the documentary—not as independently verified findings. The film’s subject is not only the encounter itself, but also what followed for Daniels as her story became a matter of intense public and legal attention.
Who made the documentary?
Peacock credits Sarah Gibson as director and producer, Erin Lee Carr as producer, and Judd Apatow, Sara Bernstein and Meredith Kaulfers as executive producers. Gibson and Carr discussed their approach and Daniels’s response to a screening with the Los Angeles Times. The paper reported Daniels telling the filmmakers: “You warned me this wasn’t going to be a puff piece, and it was a truth piece, and I feel like you really did my story justice.” That is Daniels’s reported reaction, not a critical verdict on the film.

How does the film relate to the Trump trial?
Stormy was released before the trial concluded. After Trump’s guilty verdict in May 2024, the filmmakers told the Los Angeles Times they updated the film’s end cards. That update supplies later context; it does not mean the documentary caused or influenced the verdict.
In the same May 31, 2024 interview, Gibson said: “There’s so much more work to do with regards to believing women’s stories, and giving voice to people with less power.” It is a statement of the director’s perspective on the film’s themes, not a finding about the legal proceedings.

The publisher catalogs it as an October 2018 title about her life and the events surrounding the nondisclosure agreement.
