PEOPLE EN ESPAÑOL published “The 25 Most Influential Latin Women” on August 31, 2010. Its online gallery names 15 women—not all 25—and the magazine said the complete list appeared in its October issue. The feature spans entertainment, literature, journalism, fashion, public service and children’s media, but it does not explain a ranking method.

What the 2010 feature was—and what the online version includes

The title refers to a historical magazine feature, not a current ranking. The accessible online gallery contains 15 entries. At the end of the page, the publisher directs readers to the October issue for the complete list of 25. The remaining ten names are not established by the online gallery, so they should not be filled in from later lists or guesses. PEOPLE EN ESPAÑOL’s 2010 feature framed the women as people who left a lasting mark and as examples of overcoming adversity and achieving success.

The article does not publish a scoring rubric, common comparison criteria or an explanation of how the 25 were selected. Its gallery is best read as an editorial selection whose members came from varied fields, rather than as a measurable, ranked assessment of influence.

The 15 women named in the online gallery

These are the entries in the order presented by the 2010 gallery. The descriptions below reflect how that feature characterized them at the time, not a current biography.

  1. Adamari López — Puerto Rican actress. The profile foregrounded her survival of breast cancer and personal adversity. The feature quoted her saying that facing obstacles can make a person stronger and help them move forward with pride.
  2. Lucero — Mexican actress and singer. The profile emphasized her career success and family.
  3. Lorena Rojas — Mexican actress. The feature discussed her breast cancer experience, return to television and then-recent spokesperson role with Livestrong.
  4. Anahí — Singer. The magazine reported that daily users of PeopleEnEspanol.com elected her as one of the “Most Influential,” with 51% of votes in her favor.
  5. Thalía — Mexican singer and actress, also described in the feature as a designer and businesswoman.
  6. Isabel Toledo — Cuban American designer. The profile focused on her dressing Michelle Obama for the presidential inauguration.
  7. Maxine Woodside — Radio host in Mexico City, associated with Todo para la mujer. The feature quoted her saying, “I’m a hard worker. That attracts the public.”
  8. Victoria Ruffo — Actress known for television roles. The feature quoted her describing herself as a working woman who was always passionate.
  9. Isabel Allende — Chilean-American writer. The 2010 article said her novels had been read and admired by more than 50 million readers in various languages. It also quoted her saying, “The only world where I feel safe is in that of literature.”
  10. Jacqueline Bracamontes — Mexican actress and former model.
  11. Shakira — Colombian singer. The 2010 profile referred to “Hips Don’t Lie,” “Waka Waka,” the 2010 FIFA World Cup and her philanthropic work.
  12. Sonia Sotomayor — U.S. Supreme Court justice of Puerto Rican descent, as identified by the feature, which discussed her appointment.
  13. María Celeste Arrarás — Puerto Rican journalist and television news anchor.
  14. Dora la Exploradora — Fictional Latina animated character. The profile highlighted the show’s bilingual adventures and representation.
  15. Cristina Saralegui — Cuban-American television host and businesswoman, associated with Show de Cristina and Casa Cristina.

How to interpret the feature’s claims

The two numerical claims in the accessible profiles are the magazine’s own 2010 reporting, not independently established current statistics. PEOPLE EN ESPAÑOL said Anahí received 51% of votes from daily site users in its selection, and that Allende’s stories and characters had been read and admired by more than 50 million readers in various languages. The gallery does not provide a fuller account of the voting process or the basis for the readership figure.

The four quotations shown in the profiles should likewise be understood as statements PEOPLE EN ESPAÑOL attributed to the named women in the 2010 feature. The page does not separately identify when the interviews took place.

Why the full list cannot be reconstructed from later editions

PEOPLE EN ESPAÑOL’s later “Most Influential” features demonstrate that the franchise could cover different areas and change its emphasis over time. A 2015 Time Inc. archive release described that year’s selection as spanning entertainment, business, entrepreneurship and activism. In a 2016 interview, editor-in-chief Armando Correa described the recurring feature as one that had included celebrities, entertainers and musical acts. Neither source identifies the ten names missing from the 2010 online gallery, or establishes a selection rubric for that year. The October 2010 issue remains the source the publisher itself cited for the complete roster.
