What was the U.S. release date?
Gizmodo reported that the U.S. theatrical date had moved to October 24, 2025. The announcement came alongside an English-dub trailer, and the report noted select IMAX screenings. It did not establish a current theater schedule.
How did the Japanese date differ?
The same report embedded a post from the Japanese official account announcing a nationwide Japanese release on September 19, 2025, with an IMAX opening at the same time. That was a separate, earlier date for Japan—not the U.S. release date.
What is the Reze Arc movie about?
The film continues the story after the first season of the 2022 Chainsaw Man anime. In the report’s synopsis, Denji meets Reze and learns that she is the Bomb Devil. The story also noted a Crunchyroll recap video for the series and two compilation films playing in Japan, while describing U.S. plans as they stood in September 2025; it did not provide current schedules for those releases or the recap.

What did MAPPA say about future adaptations?
In comments from an Anime News Network interview at Anime Expo 2025, relayed by Gizmodo, MAPPA president Manabu Ohtsuka said the studio was thinking about the best way to deliver Chainsaw Man to fans. Vice president Hiroya Hasegawa described the Reze Arc as a continuation of the first season and said the studio considered a film the best way to present it. On what might come after Reze, Hasegawa said MAPPA would later reconsider whether to continue as a series or another film. Those comments recorded their position in 2025; they do not confirm a current decision.
