Paramount+’s official synopsis frames the question as whether the policeman is “Mr. Death.” The reference entry supplies the character credit. Together, those details answer both common questions about the episode: Redford plays Harold Beldon, and Beldon is identified as Death.

“Nothing in the Dark” is one of those standalone stories: its premise and characters belong to this episode, rather than to a continuing role for Redford across the series.
