Epic Games brought digital Cybertruck items to Fortnite and Rocket League in July 2024 as part of coordinated Summer Road Trip events. Players could earn items through challenges, and selected cosmetics were eligible for use in both games. The collaboration also prompted visible criticism, including calls by some players and Fortnite producers to target the in-game truck. The event and shop dates have passed; that response was reported, not measured as a view shared by the entire player base.
What the Fortnite and Rocket League events offered
The Cybertruck collaboration was in-game content—not a physical vehicle offer. The two games ran related Summer Road Trip promotions, but their challenges, rewards, and dates differed.

| Fortnite | Epic’s July 23, 2024 announcement described nine quests across Fortnite modes. | The Tesla Cybertruck Bundle included a Cybertruck Car Body, CyberCamo, Matte Black, Stainless Steel, and OMG decals, plus Cyber Wheels. The Baja Off-Road decal was an event-exclusive reward. Epic said bundle items and the Beast Mode Boost were eligible for cross-game ownership with Rocket League. | The bundle and boost were scheduled for the Fortnite Shop beginning August 6, 2024. These dates are historical, not confirmation of current availability. Fortnite announcement |
| Rocket League | Epic’s July 22, 2024 announcement set out three challenges running July 23 through August 6: play online matches with Cyber Wheels equipped, then with Beast Mode Boost, then in a party. | Rewards included the Cybertruck car body, decals, wheels, boost, a Starlink and Traction Board topper, and Cybertruck engine audio. The car body, decals, boost, and wheels were listed as eligible for shared ownership with Fortnite. | Most Summer Road Trip rewards were scheduled for the item shop August 7–21, 2024. The Baja Off-Road decal was event-exclusive. These dates have passed. Rocket League announcement |
Cross-game eligibility applied to specified items, not necessarily every reward in either game. The official announcements describe what was offered in 2024; they do not establish whether any item is currently obtainable.
How to check whether a Rocket League item can be used in Fortnite
In Rocket League’s Garage, Epic Support says a Fortnite icon on an item indicates that it can be used in Fortnite. Check the icon on the specific item rather than assuming an entire set transfers. Epic Support: shared-item indicator

Why the Cybertruck may not appear in your Fortnite Locker
Epic Support directs players to Locker → Cars → SUV/Truck → Car Body. The Cybertruck does not appear in the Sportscar section. Epic Support: finding the Cybertruck
Why a cross-game vehicle might be missing
If an eligible Rocket League vehicle does not show up in Fortnite, Epic Support recommends checking account linking and launching Rocket League on the platform where the item was earned or purchased. Epic also cautions that not all Rocket League car items are shared, and some vehicle variants may appear in Fortnite as a base version.

Contemporaneous coverage by PC Gamer described players saying they would hunt Cybertruck drivers in Fortnite and reported that Fortnite producers Robby Williams and Kyle Wynn criticized the vehicle or urged players to destroy it. That supports saying the collaboration drew visible backlash. It does not show how common that view was among all Fortnite or Rocket League players, or establish an effect on sales, engagement, or overall sentiment. Epic’s announcements do not disclose financial terms, so they do not establish whether Tesla paid Epic for the collaboration.
