Her retirement first came to light through the International Tennis Integrity Agency’s retired players list; Giorgi confirmed it publicly four days later without naming modeling as her reason.
Did Camila Giorgi secretly retire from tennis?
Not exactly. Her retirement was first reported after her name appeared on the ITIA retired players list, but she later confirmed the news herself. The sequence explains why some coverage described the retirement as sudden or secret; it does not mean she never announced it.
What happened in May 2024
- May 7: The date listed for the end of Giorgi’s professional career, according to ANSA’s report on the ITIA list. ANSA reported on May 8 that Giorgi had not yet made a public announcement. ANSA’s report

Did Giorgi retire to become a model?
The available statements do not say that. Sportitalia reproduced Giorgi’s words: “I am happy to formally announce my retirement from my tennis career.” She thanked fans for their support and said she looked forward to sharing more about “exciting future opportunities.” Neither phrase identifies modeling as her reason for leaving tennis or confirms it as her next career.
So the accurate distinction is simple: her retirement is confirmed; the modeling explanation in the headline is unverified. The evidence here does not establish her main occupation or full public activities as of October 2026.

What is known about her post-tennis appearances?
In February 2025, Tennis.com reported that Giorgi appeared as an interviewer at the ATP 250 event in Buenos Aires. That is evidence of a dated tennis-media appearance, not proof of her principal occupation or a comprehensive account of her life after tennis. Tennis.com’s report
