The sitcom was High Kick 3: Revenge of the Short Legged, a South Korean series that ran from 19 September 2011 to 2 November 2012. The claim that people were “suddenly” watching it comes from a Scroll.in article published on 28 October 2016; it describes a viral moment at that time, not a current trend.
Which Korean sitcom was in the headline?
Scroll.in’s 2016 headline referred to High Kick 3: Revenge of the Short Legged. MBC’s official program record lists the Korean title as 하이킥3-짧은 다리의 역습 and gives the series run as 19 September 2011 through 2 November 2012. MBC’s program page confirms the show and its cast; it does not provide a viewership statistic supporting a claim that the sitcom was especially popular.
What happens in the clip?
According to Scroll’s account, two characters are heading to auditions for commercial-extra roles—one as an American and one as an Indian. After taking a wrong turn, they are stopped by police and continue pretending at the station.
One character, posing as Indian, wears a red sari and vermilion and repeats a few Hindi phrases. Scroll renders them as “Main khoobsurat hoon. Mere se shaadi karoge? Namaste.” The first two are translated in the article as “I am beautiful, will you marry me?” Scroll says the character then dances to music the article describes as commonly used as “stock Egyptian” in film and television. In Scroll’s account, the police are unconvinced; an unnamed police character asks, “Do you think we’ll believe that you are Indian if you do all this?”

Why did people start watching it “suddenly”?
“Suddenly” belongs to the headline’s 2016 moment. Scroll published the article on 28 October 2016 and described the clip as having recently gone viral. The sources do not establish what caused the renewed attention, how many people watched it, or whether it is circulating widely now. “Went viral” is Scroll’s qualitative description, not a measured audience figure.
