Who is Christina Lomasney?
Lomasney is a physicist and technology entrepreneur. Pacific Northwest National Laboratory (PNNL) lists her as Christina Lomasney-Mattis, Director of Commercialization, Technology, Deployment and Outreach. PNNL says she joined the laboratory in 2021 to focus on industrial partnerships and technology commercialization. PNNL’s biography says she earned bachelor’s and master’s degrees in physics from the University of Washington and has a background in materials science and electrochemistry.
Her technology companies
PNNL says Lomasney founded Modumetal in 2007 and served as its president and CEO until 2020. The laboratory describes the company as developing nanostructured materials designed to resist corrosion better than steel; that is PNNL’s characterization, not a comparative test result presented here. PNNL’s current biography, accessed in 2026, reports that she raised more than $100 million in equity and non-equity funding at Modumetal and built partnerships with several Fortune 500 companies.
Before Modumetal, Lomasney founded Isotron. PNNL says the company developed technologies for large-scale decontamination and environmental restoration, had U.S. military customers, and saw its technologies used at commercial and industrial sites after the Fukushima Daiichi accident.
Who is James Mattis?
Mattis is a retired Marine Corps general who served as the 26th U.S. secretary of defense from January 2017 to January 2019, according to GeekWire. Task & Purpose relayed Politico’s account that the couple met in a bar.
What is publicly known about the marriage?
The published accounts establish the year and broad outline of the wedding, but they do not provide an exact date for the Columbia River ceremony. The wedding details in the reports should therefore be understood as attributed media reporting, not as confirmation from the couple.
