Momsen arrived at KidSuper’s Funny Business Comedy Fashion Show in an open black-and-white jacket and matching trousers, styled with silver necklaces and combat boots. Reports described the small coverings over her breasts differently: Glamour called them squares of black tape, while Just Jared described duct tape used as pasties and E! News called them pasties. None of those reports identifies a specific brand or confirms an exact product.

The event took place on September 9, 2024, during New York Fashion Week. The “topless” wording used in headlines is shorthand for the daring styling; it should not be read to mean Momsen was uncovered. She was 31 at the time, according to E! News and Just Jared.
Why Taylor Momsen is known from The Grinch
Before her music career, Momsen played Cindy Lou Who in the 2000 film How the Grinch Stole Christmas. She later appeared as Jenny Humphrey on Gossip Girl and became the lead singer of the rock band The Pretty Reckless.

Momsen’s move from acting to music
Momsen has said she chose to leave acting and concentrate on music. E! News, attributing the remarks to a May interview, quoted her saying, “I quit everything else and just focused on music,” and, “It was the best decision I ever made, because it’s my true passion.”
Her own Instagram reaction to the fashion show was reproduced by Kathleen Walsh in Glamour: “Virgin eyes and dirty looks and a great time with @kidsuper at one of the funnest fashion events I’ve ever been to! Thanks to @dougieplaylist and the whole team for having me!”

Coverage agrees that Momsen wore small coverings as part of the look, but uses differing terms for them.
