The comment, reported by MEAWW on July 30, 2025, is a promising update—but it is not the same as a formal TLC renewal announcement, and no premiere date is established by the available sources.
What Tammy Slaton reportedly said about Season 8
MEAWW reported on July 30, 2025, that Slaton replied to a fan asking whether 1000-lb Sisters had been canceled: “No, they haven’t. We are working on Season 8. I don’t understand why people keep posting fake news about us.” The outlet said the reply appeared in a Reddit thread as a screenshot.

That wording suggests production work was underway when Slaton made the comment. It also directly pushes back against claims that the series had been canceled. The report does not independently establish what stage the work had reached or when new episodes might air.
Is Season 8 officially renewed by TLC?
The reported comment is a cast member’s statement, not a TLC press announcement. The sources available for this update do not establish a formal network renewal announcement. Warner Bros. Discovery’s historical description identifies 1000-lb Sisters as a TLC series following Amy and Tammy Slaton and their weight-loss journeys, but it does not confirm Season 8.

- Brand New in box. The product ships with all relevant accessories
The most precise takeaway is that Slaton appeared to confirm the show was being worked on at the time of her reported reply. That is meaningful evidence, but it should not be presented as an official network confirmation.

No premiere date is established by the sources cited here. Slaton’s reported comment addressed whether the show had been canceled and whether work on another season was underway; it did not give an air date. Without a confirmed TLC date, claims about when Season 8 will premiere remain unverified.
