How does the single fit into Deadbeat?
Sony Music Canada’s October 17, 2025 announcement identifies “Dracula” as one of three advance singles from Deadbeat, alongside “Loser” and “End of Summer.” The album was released through Columbia Records. Apple Music lists it as a 12-song, 56-minute album, with “Dracula” in the third position.
What does “Dracula” sound like, and what video accompanied it?
Sony Music Spain described the single’s production as energetic club psychedelia built around hypnotic melodies. Its announcement also promoted a video directed by Julian Klincewicz. Apple Music’s album editorial characterizes the track as “cheeky” and “horror-themed,” placing it in a Halloween electro-disco frame; that is the platform’s description, not a statement attributed to Kevin Parker.

What influenced the album’s musical direction?
Sony Music Spain and Sony Music Canada connect Deadbeat’s club-psych direction to Western Australian rave and bush-doof culture. The Canadian announcement particularly points to the Margaret River scene in the 1990s. Sony Music Spain says the album was recorded between Fremantle and Wave House in Injidup. These are the labels’ descriptions of the album’s influences and recording locations.

In Apple Music’s Deadbeat editorial, Parker described taking a deliberately self-critical approach to his lyrics: “I’ve always had a sick satisfaction from being hard on myself in my lyrics,” he said. “For me, it’s freeing to make beautiful music and then put a sticker on it that says, ‘That piece of shit!’ It flips around all those feelings that have followed me around my whole life and gives them purpose.”
