Before Sunset Fest Cabo announced that it was rescheduling, contemporary coverage reported that Christopher Cross, Kenny Loggins, Alan Parsons and Ambrosia had withdrawn from the original October 2025 bill. The organizers then said flooding had left the venue unavailable in time and announced new dates for Memorial Day weekend in May 2026. Those dates have passed, and the available sources do not establish whether the event took place or what its final lineup was.
Which artists withdrew from the original Sunset Fest Cabo lineup?
ABC Audio reported on October 2, 2025 that Christopher Cross, Kenny Loggins, Alan Parsons and Ambrosia had said they would not perform, citing “unforeseen circumstances” beyond their control. The report also relayed withdrawals by Pablo Cruise, Al Stewart and Peter Beckett. It said Rick Springfield had not commented at that time. These were reported departures from the original bill, before the festival’s rescheduling announcement; they do not establish who ultimately performed or was scheduled for the later dates. Why did organizers reschedule the festival?
The festival organizers attributed the move to heavy flooding associated with Hurricane Lorena and additional flooding from Hurricane Narda’s outer bands. In their notice, they said inspections by two entities in Mexico concluded that damage would keep the venue from being available in time for the original event. This is the organizers’ explanation for the rescheduling. Sunset Fest Cabo’s official notice
What dates were announced after the original event was moved?
Sunset Fest Cabo was initially promoted as a three-day yacht-rock event in Cabo San Lucas for October 24–26, 2025. The original announcement named Christopher Cross, Kenny Loggins, Alan Parsons, Rick Springfield, Ambrosia, Dire Straits Legacy, Pablo Cruise and other acts. After the flooding, organizers announced a move to Memorial Day weekend in May 2026. The original announcement, reprinted by antiMusic

Was Sunset Fest Cabo canceled, or did it happen in May 2026?
The available notices establish that the event was rescheduled to May 2026, but do not establish whether it took place. They also do not provide a confirmed final lineup. It would therefore be inaccurate to describe the festival as completed, canceled, or featuring particular replacement acts without a newer confirmation.
What did the organizers say about the later lineup?
The official notice said, “We are committed to preserving the originally announced lineup for Sunset Fest Cabo.” It qualified that commitment: the date change could create unavoidable conflicts for some performers, and organizers said they would confirm comparable artists in those cases. That was a plan, not confirmation that every original act returned or that replacements were booked. Sunset Fest Cabo’s official notice

What happened to tickets and refund requests?
For the rescheduled dates, organizers said tickets purchased through Showpass and seat locations would remain valid. They also said customers unable to attend could request a full refund through Showpass by December 31, 2025, identifying Showpass as the processor responsible for refunds or exchanges. That deadline has passed; the notice does not establish a current refund option, so ticket holders need up-to-date guidance directly from Showpass or the festival. Sunset Fest Cabo’s official notice
