There is no official ranking of the strongest female characters in My Hero Academia. Based on the available official character profiles, Mirko has the strongest supported case for close-quarters physical combat, while Nejire Hado stands out for ranged offense and Nana Shimura has major legacy significance—but the evidence does not establish a definitive winner across all kinds of strength.
Manga spoilers: This comparison sticks to the facts established in the cited official profiles and does not use late-series manga feats to build a complete ranking.

How this ranking works—and where it stops
“Strongest” can mean peak power, proven fight results, versatility, durability, or how consistently a character can use her abilities. Those measures do not always point to the same person. The official profiles below describe abilities and roles, but do not provide a comparative strength score or battle record for the female cast.
So this is a criterion-led ranking of the three characters for whom the available official profile evidence supports a useful comparison—not a definitive top three for the entire series. Mirko leads for physical combat; Nejire is a supported choice for ranged offense; Nana’s profile establishes her importance and Quirk, but not a comparable combat record. These placements reflect the evidence and criteria, not an official franchise order.
#1 Best Overall
- MHA Fandom: Midoriya inherits the superpower of the world’s greatest hero, but greatness won’t come easy.
- Includes: The first 20 volumes of the bestselling My Hero Academia manga.
- Format: Softcover, 3840 pages.
1. Mirko: the clearest physical-combat case
Yomiuri TV’s Mirko character profile identifies her as Japan’s current No. 5 pro hero on the Hero Billboard Chart JP and names her Quirk Rabbit. It describes her exceptional leg strength and jumping ability, giving her the clearest supported case here for mobility and powerful physical attacks.
The chart position is a professional hero ranking, not a strength score. The profile supports placing Mirko first when the comparison emphasizes physical combat, but it does not establish that she would defeat every other female character or outrank them across all abilities.
Rank #2
- Middle school student Izuku Midoriya wants to be a hero more than anything, but he hasn't got an ounce of power in him
- What would the world be like if 80 percent of the population manifested superpowers called “Quirks”
- Heroes and villains would be battling it out everywhere! Being a hero would mean learning to use your power, but where would you go to study
2. Nejire Hado: ranged offense with a stamina tradeoff
Nejire is a third-year U.A. student and one of the Big Three, whom the same official profile describes as the school’s current top students. Her Quirk, Wave Motion, converts her vitality into energy that she releases as shock waves. That gives her a clear ranged-offense role in this comparison.
The ability’s stated power source also matters: using vitality as energy makes stamina relevant to how long she can sustain her output. The profile does not provide a direct matchup record against Mirko or establish how Nejire compares in defense, durability, or overall fight results.
Rank #3
3. Nana Shimura: important legacy, limited comparison evidence
Yomiuri TV’s Nana Shimura character profile identifies her as the seventh One For All successor and All Might’s mentor; her original Quirk was Float. Those facts make her central to the series’ history, but they do not by themselves supply a comparative battle record or enough detail to place her above Mirko or Nejire by demonstrated combat performance.
Bandai Namco’s May 7, 2026 game announcement describes a playable portrayal using One For All and Float. That is a description of the game version, not independent evidence for a canon ranking.
Rank #4
Why this is not a definitive series-wide top ten
Other names may belong in a broader discussion, including Star and Stripe, Lady Nagant, Himiko Toga, and Mt. Lady. But the official character profiles and comparative feat records available for this article do not support assigning them fair, consistent positions or describing their abilities in enough detail to rank them responsibly.
A full-series list would need to apply the same standard to professional heroes, students, and deceased characters, while accounting for different kinds of power and the amount of evidence the story gives each one. Without that comparison, an exact numbered order would imply more certainty than the cited sources provide.
