“Stuff Your Kindle Day” is a name used for limited-time ebook promotions, not one official event with a fixed annual date. The available event information does not verify a promotion ending March 16: it lacks a year and organizer, and the current Romance Bookworms page lists a different event date. To find books that are free now, start with an organizer’s current listing, then confirm each title’s price at the retailer before claiming it.
What Stuff Your Kindle Day means
The phrase describes a family of limited-time ebook promotions, often organized by indie authors or community groups. The events can differ in date, genre, participating retailers, and terms; there is no single calendar that establishes one universal Stuff Your Kindle Day. The directory Stuff Your Kindle’s event listings says the first event was hosted by Zoe York in December 2014.
Romance Bookworms is one romance-focused curator. Its listings group books by romance genre and reading vibe, and link to participating retailers. Those listings are a way to discover titles, not a guarantee that a retailer still offers every book for free.
Is there a Stuff Your Kindle Day promotion until March 16?
The March 16 date cannot be confirmed from the information available: the title gives no year or event organizer, and the current Romance Bookworms pages do not identify a matching promotion. Its Kindle event page lists an August 10, 2026 event. Its home page says that promotion is over and another is expected in early 2027. Those dates apply to Romance Bookworms, not every event using the Stuff Your Kindle name.

A separate March 16–17 listing for a “Get Lucky” promotion does not establish that it is the event meant by the title, so do not treat it as confirmation. For any promotion, use the named organizer’s current page and check its date and terms rather than relying on a date without a year.
How to find and claim a free ebook
- Choose a current event listing. Start at the organizer’s own page or a directory that identifies organizers, such as the event directory. Check the event date, genre, and retailer links.
- Open the book at your preferred retailer. Romance Bookworms links to Amazon Kindle, Apple Books, Barnes & Noble Nook, Kobo, and Google Play. You do not need a Kindle-branded device to use a promotion if the title is offered through a retailer and app you can access.
- Check the final price before claiming. Follow the retailer link and confirm that the price is free on the purchase or claim screen before completing the transaction. Promotions can change, and a curator’s listing does not guarantee that the live retailer price remains zero.
- Read in the compatible app or device. Kindle books can be read in the Kindle app as well as on Kindle ereaders. Amazon notes that phone users may need to complete a Kindle ebook purchase in a web browser; after purchase, the title appears in their Kindle library or app. See Amazon’s guide to buying Kindle books and its guide to finding your Kindle library.
Do you need a Kindle?
No. A dedicated Kindle ereader is optional. Romance Bookworms lists other ebook storefronts, including Apple Books, Nook, Kobo, and Google Play, so choose a linked retailer that works with your device and reading app. A book’s availability and price still need to be checked on that retailer’s own listing.

Can you get Kindle books through a library instead?
Library borrowing is a separate option, not part of an event promotion. Libby says that most eligible Libby books can be read on Kindle ereaders in the United States. This depends on the title’s library availability and eligibility; it does not mean a specific event book is in your library’s collection. Details are in Libby’s guide to reading Kindle books on a Kindle ereader.
