Netflix Tudum’s episode-by-episode guide lists the songs heard across all eight episodes of Stranger Things Season 5. Episode use is not the same as inclusion on the commercial soundtrack album: the album is a curated selection, and its CD, LP, and cassette track lists differ.
What songs are in Stranger Things Season 5?
The following episode list is based on Netflix Tudum’s official song guide. It identifies music heard in the show, not a promise that each track appears on the soundtrack album.
Episode 1

- “Pretty in Pink” — Psychedelic Furs
- “Upside Down” — Diana Ross
- “Running Up That Hill (A Deal with God)” — Kate Bush
Episode 2

- “Running Up That Hill (A Deal with God)” — Kate Bush
- “Mr. Sandman” — The Chordettes
ABBA’s “Fernando” accompanies Karen Wheeler’s bath scene before the sequence becomes threatening. Music supervisor Nora Felder told Netflix that the song feels fitting for Karen and builds into the terror that follows. Netflix Tudum’s account of the scene includes Felder’s explanation.

How the finale uses Prince and David Bowie
In Episode 8, “When Doves Cry” plays as the group escapes after the bomb’s remote trigger is set; the music then shifts to “Purple Rain” as the scene turns somber. Ross Duffer told Netflix that the idea of using a record as the bomb trigger called for an epic needle drop, and that Prince fit the moment. Netflix Tudum’s finale feature details the sequence and the Duffers’ comments.
