Words for earning in-game hints
Try MEAN, LEFT, DIVERS, GIVE, VOTES, or CAST as non-theme words. In Strands, three valid non-theme words earn a hint that reveals the letters of a theme answer. If a hint is already active, another hint reveals their order.

The six theme words are DREGS, REMNANT, RESIDUE, SOUVENIR, TRACE, and VESTIGE.
Spangram: LEFTOVERS. The nine-letter spangram runs mostly vertically from the bottom to the top, crossing the third column at both ends.

How the Strands grid works
Strands is a word-search game: trace adjacent letters in the grid to form theme words. Paths can move vertically, horizontally, or diagonally, and a cell cannot be reused within one word. The spangram captures the theme and connects two opposite sides of the board.
