The claim that Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce had a scheduled breakup announcement came from a purported PR document circulated in 2024—not a verified plan. Their relationship has since moved far beyond that rumour: the Associated Press reported they married on July 3, 2026, and Marie Claire reported them together at a New York birthday dinner on October 5, 2026.
What was the alleged breakup plan?
A PerthNow article published September 4, 2024, reported that images of a purported Full Scope PR plan were circulating on social media. The document allegedly set September 28, 2024, as the date for a breakup announcement. That date and the plan’s supposed wording were claims attributed to images online; the article did not establish that the document was authentic. PerthNow’s original report is the source of the headline’s “fresh” framing.
What did Full Scope say?
In a fact check published September 20, 2024, Lead Stories reported that Full Scope told People the documents were “entirely false and fabricated” and had not been “created, issued or authorized” by the agency. Lead Stories also said it found no credible reverse-image-search results establishing that the documents were authentic. Read the Lead Stories fact check.
The available reporting does not identify who created the purported document or establish that Swift and Kelce had a PR arrangement. The agency’s denial is an attributed statement; it does not reveal every private detail of the couple’s relationship.

Why is the headline out of date?
The alleged announcement date—September 28, 2024—passed without turning the circulated document into a verified record. More importantly, later reporting gives a very different public timeline: the Associated Press reported that Swift and Kelce married on July 3, 2026, citing Swift’s publicist. Marie Claire reported that they attended a birthday dinner together in New York on October 5, 2026. Those reports establish what was publicly reported about the couple at those dates; they do not prove private intent or authenticate the old document.

What can readers reasonably conclude?
- The “breakup plan” was an allegation based on images circulated online, not an authenticated schedule.
- Full Scope said it had not created, issued or authorized the documents, as reported by Lead Stories.
- The reviewed accounts do not establish who made the purported document or prove that the relationship was staged.
- The 2024 rumour should not be presented as fresh: subsequent reporting says the couple married in 2026 and were seen together that October.
