Taylor Swift donated $5 million to support relief efforts after Hurricanes Helene and Milton, according to Feeding America, which announced the gift on October 9, 2024. The organization said the money would help provide food, clean water, and supplies to storm-affected communities.
How much did Taylor Swift donate, and when was it announced?
Feeding America announced on October 9, 2024, that Swift had donated $5 million for relief efforts following both hurricanes. The Associated Press reported the amount and recipient on October 10; Reuters also reported that Feeding America disclosed the donation in a social media post.
Feeding America CEO Claire Babineaux-Fontenot thanked Swift for her “generous $5 million donation to Hurricanes Helene and Milton relief efforts,” according to the AP report. The announcement came as Milton approached Florida and made landfall; the AP described it at the time as a Category 3 storm on October 9, 2024. Those details describe the situation then, not current storm conditions.
Which charity received the donation?
The recipient was Feeding America, a hunger-relief organization whose network includes food banks. The public announcement identified support for relief following both Helene and Milton; it did not say the gift was exclusively for one state or one storm.

The report gives a comparison, not an exact truckload count. It describes the network’s overall response and does not attribute those truckloads to Swift’s gift.
