Star Trek: Voyager – Across the Unknown is a licensed survival strategy game that puts players in command of the U.S.S. Voyager on its journey home from the Delta Quadrant. It launched on February 18, 2026, for PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch 2. The claim that it is the first Voyager game in over 20 years is not established by the available release history: earlier Voyager-based games exist.
What kind of game is Across the Unknown?
Developed by gameXcite and published by Daedalic Entertainment, Across the Unknown is a story-driven survival strategy game, not a scene-by-scene retelling of the television series. The player commands Voyager as it tries to cross the Delta Quadrant and return home. Daedalic describes a route through 12 sectors, with exploration, resource and ship management, crew dynamics, diplomacy, and difficult choices shaping the journey. Daedalic’s announcement introduced the officially licensed game in August 2025.
The central appeal is a Voyager “what if?”: choices can alter the ship’s configuration and the fates of familiar crew members. Players are expected to manage ship systems and crew, negotiate with other groups, make moral decisions, and adapt the vessel as circumstances change. Roguelite elements mean the experience is designed to accommodate variation across playthroughs, rather than guarantee one fixed version of the journey.
When did it release, and what platforms are supported?
Daedalic announced February 18, 2026, as the simultaneous launch date for PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch 2. Steam also lists February 18, 2026, as the release date. Check the relevant platform’s live store listing for current availability, regional pricing, and edition details, since those can change.

The publisher also announced a free demo of approximately one hour, featuring a sector inspired by “The Caretaker.” Demo availability can differ by platform and over time, so confirm its status in the store for your device.
What DLC and updates are available?
In an update dated July 16, 2026, Daedalic said that the Expansion Pass and its first story DLC, Delta Chronicles, were available, alongside free Patch 1.8. The publisher described the pass as containing four premium DLCs. Its later official site listing promoted Q Trials as out now and showed subsequent DLC as coming soon; availability can change, so consult the official site or your platform store for the latest status.

The first story expansion adds five side missions drawing on Voyager episodes “Distant Origin,” “The Omega Directive,” “Cold Fire,” “Homestead,” and “Inside Man.” These are additional missions, not a replacement for the base campaign.
Free Patch 1.8
Daedalic said Patch 1.8 added seven ship quests and events, as well as interface and balance improvements. These details are publisher-stated additions, not independent assessments of how the changes affect play.

Is it the first Star Trek: Voyager game in over 20 years?
That exact claim is not verified. Daedalic announced the game as bringing the series “back to games,” but that statement does not establish a complete release chronology or prove a specific 20-year gap. Earlier Voyager-related games include Star Trek: Voyager – Elite Force and an arcade game dated 2002. The safer description is that Across the Unknown brings Voyager back to a dedicated game after earlier Voyager-based titles; the precise interval depends on which releases count and has not been confirmed by a complete authoritative history.
How should you decide which version or add-ons to get?
The base game and add-ons are offered digitally through official storefronts. Compare the current listings for your region rather than relying on a price quoted elsewhere. In particular, check:
