A full nine-film Skywalker Saga marathon has been held in theaters before, but no current or future nine-film screening schedule or ticket sale is verified as of October 8, 2026. The best-documented recent example was a May 4, 2024 event at Jordan Commons in Sandy, Utah—not a current return to cinemas.
What counts as a Skywalker Saga marathon?
The Skywalker Saga is the nine episodic Star Wars films: three prequels, three original-trilogy films and three sequels. Disney+ defines the saga as nine movies and lists them in chronological story order:
- Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace
- Star Wars: Episode II – Attack of the Clones
- Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge of the Sith
- Star Wars: Episode IV – A New Hope
- Star Wars: Episode V – The Empire Strikes Back
- Star Wars: Episode VI – Return of the Jedi
- Star Wars: Episode VII – The Force Awakens
- Star Wars: Episode VIII – The Last Jedi
- Star Wars: Episode IX – The Rise of Skywalker
This nine-film definition excludes other Star Wars films, including Rogue One and Solo, as well as television series. Disney+’s Skywalker Saga guide is the source for the nine-film scope and order.
Is the Skywalker Saga returning to theaters now?
No verified current or future schedule for a complete nine-film theatrical marathon was found as of October 8, 2026. A BiosAgenda page with listings crawled October 7, 2026 has a similar program title, but its text refers to Episodes IV–VI and DVD/Blu-ray purchase or rental; it does not establish current showtimes for all nine films. Treat the listing as ambiguous rather than as proof of a confirmed marathon. BiosAgenda’s listing does not resolve that uncertainty.

- The Skywalker saga’s center trilogy introduces Luke Skywalker, who is drawn into the rebellion against the evil Galactic Empire when he is recruited by Obi-Wan Kenobi. Strong in the Force, Luke is confronted with a shocking truth — while Sith Lord Darth Vader faces a supreme decision.
Where and when was the most recent well-documented marathon?
Jordan Commons, Sandy, Utah — May 4, 2024
Larry H. Miller Megaplex announced an all-nine-film event at Jordan Commons, beginning with Episode I and ending with Episode IX. The schedule began at about 10:20 p.m. and continued into the following evening. The theater operator said the films totaled 1,239 minutes and estimated the event at more than 24 hours including breaks. Its published individual film runtimes ranged from 121 to 152 minutes. These figures describe that event, not a universal schedule for future marathons.
The operator’s March 22, 2024 announcement said, “The run time for all nine episodes is more than 20 hours, plus scheduled breaks.” The same event announcement listed a starting reserved-seat price of $49.95 plus applicable taxes and fees, with unlimited Megaplex popcorn and Coca-Cola Freestyle drinks included for the duration; outside food and beverages were not permitted. Those were event-specific historical terms, not current ticket prices or policies. Larry H. Miller Megaplex’s event announcement is the source for the schedule, runtimes and terms.

All-nine-film marathon before The Rise of Skywalker — December 2019
StarWars.com documented a December 19 marathon of all nine saga films ahead of The Rise of Skywalker’s December 20 release. Its announcement said attendees would receive an exclusive blanket; premium event attendees would also receive a commemorative pin and concession offer. These were promotions for that 2019 event only. StarWars.com’s October 22, 2019 announcement described it as “a Star Wars Marathon featuring all nine films from the Skywalker saga.”

- Venue and location: Confirm the theater, city and screening dates on the venue’s own page.
- Films included: Check whether all nine episodic films are listed, rather than selected titles or a different Star Wars program.
- Ticket coverage: Establish whether one ticket covers the entire marathon or whether screenings require separate tickets.
- Timing and breaks: Verify the start time, expected finish, and whether breaks are scheduled. The 2024 event’s films alone ran 1,239 minutes, before breaks.
- Price and inclusions: Check the current total, including fees, and confirm any food, drinks or merchandise directly with the organizer.
- Seating and policies: Review seat selection, age or entry rules, and outside-food policies for that specific venue.
Historical events show that terms can differ by organizer and year; a past price, concession package or collectible is not evidence of what a new screening will offer.
