This is a past release story: Star Trek: Prodigy Season 2 appeared on France’s Okoo platform in March 2024 before Netflix had announced its release date. The creators called the surprise a miscommunication, not a leak. Netflix later released all 20 episodes on July 1, 2024, in the United States and select countries.
What was the unexpected France release?
In a March 29, 2024 report, Gizmodo said the complete second season had appeared the previous week on Okoo, the France Télévisions streaming platform. At the time, the show’s future had already been uncertain: Prodigy had been removed from Paramount+ in June 2023, and Netflix subsequently became its new streaming home.
Dan and Kevin Hageman addressed the unexpected appearance in a March 28 update reproduced by Gizmodo: “For a show about communication, it’s unfortunate there was some miscommunication.” They said it was not a leak and that Netflix would be next, but no Netflix date had been set when Gizmodo published its report. When did Season 2 arrive on Netflix?
CBS Studios later announced that all 20 episodes would premiere on Netflix on July 1, 2024, in the United States and select countries. A July 1 update confirmed that the episodes were then available to stream. These are historical launch details, not confirmation of the season’s present availability in every country. What happens in the season?
In the official synopsis, the crew is assigned to rescue Captain Chakotay and bring peace to Gwyn’s home world. When a plan goes wrong, it creates a time paradox that threatens both past and future.

What physical editions were announced?
StarTrek.com, reporting for CBS Studios, announced Blu-ray and manufacture-on-demand DVD editions containing all 20 episodes and two exclusive featurettes, with a November 12, 2024 release date. Its announced suggested retail prices were $25.99 for Blu-ray, $19.99 for HD digital, and $14.99 for SD digital. These are 2024 suggested prices, not verified current prices or stock.
If choosing a disc edition, check the current retailer listing for the exact format and region. The announcement documents the planned editions and contents, but does not establish present-day availability.
