Season 3 has since been released as the series’ planned finale: all six episodes are streaming on Netflix, and Netflix says there will be no Season 4. Availability can vary by territory.
Did Netflix renew Squid Game for Season 3?
Yes. Netflix announced the third season on January 30, 2025, with the promotional line “Are You in for the Final Game?” The announcement set June 27, 2025 as the premiere date and described the season as the final one. Netflix’s announcement also recalled the success of Season 2: Netflix reported that it drew 68 million views upon debut and ranked No. 1 on Netflix’s Top 10 TV Series (Non-English) list in 92 countries. Those are Netflix-reported figures, not independent measurements.
When did Season 3 come out, and how many episodes are there?
Season 3 premiered June 27, 2025. Netflix Tudum reports that all six episodes are streaming on Netflix. The release date is historical, not an upcoming premiere; check Netflix in your territory for current availability.
Is Season 3 the last season?
Yes. Netflix presented Season 3 as the series finale, and Netflix Tudum says the series will not return for Season 4. The January announcement was a renewal for a third season, not an indication of a fourth.

The Front Man resumes his role, while Jun-ho continues searching for the island. Creator and director Hwang Dong-hyuk described Gi-hun’s direction this way: “The new season will focus on what Gi-hun can and will do after all his efforts fail,” he told Netflix Tudum.
