Netflix premiered the official trailer for Squid Game Season 3 during Tudum 2025, its live fan event at the Kia Forum in Los Angeles on May 31, 2025. The season was billed as the series’ third and final season, and Netflix had announced June 27, 2025, as its premiere date—a date that has now passed.
When did Netflix release the trailer?
The trailer debuted at Tudum 2025 on May 31. Netflix’s trailer article and event recap were published the following day, June 1. Those are separate dates: May 31 was the live event; June 1 was the publication date of Netflix’s coverage.
Netflix’s June 1 trailer article identifies the footage as the official trailer for the third and final season. Netflix had announced June 27, 2025, as the season’s premiere date in a May 5 Season 3 announcement. That earlier announcement concerned a teaser, not the Tudum trailer.
What does the trailer show?
Netflix says the new episodes pick up after the Season 2 finale, with Gi-hun in despair following his failed efforts and losses. The trailer also brings back Young-hee and offers a first glimpse of a new game. These are the story details Netflix highlights; they provide a spoiler-light sense of what the footage sets up without going beyond the official description.

In the same Tudum article, creator Hwang Dong-hyuk describes the character arc this way: “The new season will focus on what Gi-hun can and will do after all his efforts fail.”
What was Tudum 2025?
Netflix’s event recap says Tudum took over Los Angeles’s Kia Forum on May 31, 2025. Netflix described the venue as sold out, with thousands of fans in attendance, while millions of members watched live on Netflix around the world. The Season 3 trailer was one of the event’s reveals.

Netflix also reported 250 million impressions in the first 96 hours for a different asset: the Stranger Things 5 date announcement across Netflix channels. It is not a trailer-view count or a Squid Game metric.
