In the English dub of SPY x FAMILY CODE: White, Megan Shipman voices Anya Forger and Natalie Van Sistine voices Yor Forger. In an April 2024 interview, the actors explained how they approached the mother-and-daughter characters: Shipman embraced Anya’s unruly emotional range, while Van Sistine drew on the manga to navigate Yor’s contrast between anxious everyday life and focused assassin work.
How did Megan Shipman approach Anya’s voice?
Shipman said she auditioned for Anya using trailers, then leaned into the character’s outsized feelings and childlike immaturity. “There were big emotions all over the spectrum for her, so I decided to make them as big as possible, because that’s clearly what Anya is: a larger-than-life child.”

She also described refining Anya’s consistent vocal tics over later recording sessions. The result, in Shipman’s account, balances exaggerated reactions with the recognizable energy of a child; it is her performance interpretation rather than a prescribed rule for the character.
How does Natalie Van Sistine make Yor’s two sides work?
Van Sistine said Yor was not prominent in the audition trailers, so she turned to the manga for a clearer sense of the character. “I sat down to read the first volume of the manga, and I immediately related to how Yor has anxiety, but when it’s go time, she gets in the zone and freaks out later.”

That contrast helped Van Sistine connect Yor’s composed assassin persona with the nervousness she shows away from the job. She described Yor’s anxiety as a source of relatability, not as a denial of her competence.
What did the actors say about learning of the film?
Shipman recalled finding out about the English dub after the film had already been announced in Japan. The cast had recorded before they could tell fans, she said, adding: “We tend to find out things along with the fans, which can be fun and exciting.” That account describes her experience with this film, not a universal dubbing schedule.

What is Code: White about?
The official synopsis sets the Forger family on a winter weekend trip that becomes entangled with Loid’s Operation Strix mission. Loid is a spy, Yor an assassin, and their adopted daughter Anya a telepath who knows their secrets; events involving Anya threaten world peace.
The international release announcement credits Takashi Katagiri as director, WIT STUDIO and CloverWorks as production studios, Tatsuya Endo with the original story, and Ichiro Okouchi with the screenplay. The English-dub interview appeared before the US theatrical opening in April 2024, so it records the performers’ pre-release comments rather than offering a review.

How big was the film’s Japanese box-office milestone?
Crunchyroll News reported on 22 January 2024 that Code: White had passed 5 billion yen at the Japanese box office and held the country’s top spot for four consecutive weekends as of 20 January. That is a dated Japanese-market milestone, not a final worldwide gross.
