The Happy Gilmore 2 Tournament was a Netflix and Spotify promotional mini golf game built into Spotify’s mobile experience. Launched on July 25, 2025, it let players tilt a phone to swing through three film-inspired rounds. Spotify’s launch announcement and contemporaneous coverage describe how it worked then; they do not confirm that the game is still playable.
What was the Happy Gilmore 2 game on Spotify?
It was an interactive campaign for the Netflix film Happy Gilmore 2, developed by Spotify with MiK Studio. Spotify described it as its first golf-inspired game built inside the app; that is Spotify’s characterization, not an independently verified history of every game on the service.
The promotion mixed a short mobile game with movie-related audio and other campaign features. The film was scheduled to premiere on Netflix on July 25, 2025, the same date as Spotify’s launch announcement. Netflix’s official title page identifies Happy Gilmore 2 as a 2025 film.
How did the Spotify golf game work?
Spotify said players could find the experience in the Spotify app or open it from a mobile link. The game used phone tilts to control one swing per hole over three rounds.

- Three rounds: The holes progressed from short- to mid- and long-range shots.
- Film-inspired course: Hazards and references included the alligator and Happy’s boots.
- Campaign extras: The experience included a score tracker and film audio clips. Spotify also listed custom playlists, videos, podcast moments and a Bill Simmons voiceover as parts of the campaign.
TechCrunch’s July 24, 2025, report said players could see the film’s official trailer at the end and share their score and personalized playlist. This was phone-based promotional play, not a physical mini golf setup: the launch descriptions do not call for clubs, a putting mat or a separate game console.
Can you still play it in Spotify?
That is not confirmed. Spotify’s launch announcement and TechCrunch’s contemporaneous report establish that the promotion launched in 2025, but neither establishes its current availability or which regions can access it. Check Spotify directly rather than assuming the in-app game or mobile link still works.
