Bad Bunny was Spotify’s biggest artist globally in 2025, with 19.8 billion streams reported by Spotify. It was his fourth time at the top, following 2020, 2021 and 2022. The result is Spotify’s global ranking—not the U.S. ranking, where Taylor Swift was No. 1 and Bad Bunny placed fifth.
Who was Spotify’s biggest artist in 2025?
Spotify named Bad Bunny its global top artist in its 2025 Wrapped results, published December 3, 2025. Spotify reported 19.8 billion streams for the artist during the Wrapped listening period. The previous years he led globally were 2020, 2021 and 2022. Spotify’s results announcement calls this his fourth time earning the title.

The global top five artists were:
- Bad Bunny
- Taylor Swift
- The Weeknd
- Drake
- Billie Eilish
This is Spotify’s ranking of artists on its service, not a comprehensive measure of music listening across platforms or a count through December 31.
Was Bad Bunny also Spotify’s top artist in the U.S.?
No. In Spotify’s U.S. artist ranking, Taylor Swift came first and Bad Bunny ranked fifth. That difference is a reminder to check geography when comparing Wrapped lists: the global ranking and a country-specific ranking can have different leaders. The Associated Press also reported the global and U.S. distinction in its December 3, 2025 coverage.

What were the top Spotify album and song of 2025?
Spotify’s top album and top song were separate categories from the artist ranking:
- Global top album: Bad Bunny’s DeBÍ TiRAR MáS FOToS.
- Global top song: “Die With A Smile” by Lady Gaga and Bruno Mars, with more than 1.7 billion streams reported by Spotify.
“BIRDS OF A FEATHER” by Billie Eilish ranked second among global songs, and “APT.” by ROSÉ and Bruno Mars ranked third. Bad Bunny’s “DtMF” was fifth. Bad Bunny’s top-artist result should not be confused with the top-song result: the global No. 1 song was by Lady Gaga and Bruno Mars.
Rank #2
- OASIS, the collaborative album between J Balvin and Bad Bunny, was released in 2019 and features the singles, "Que Pretendes," "La Cancion," "Yo Le Llego," and "Cuidao por Ahi
How Spotify calculated its 2025 artist ranking
Spotify says its Top Artists list uses a weighted stream count, with primary artists receiving more weight than secondary or featured artists. Spotify’s methodology explainer says a song listen counts after playback passes 30 seconds; artist ranking uses its weighted artist count rather than simply treating every track play as an identical artist credit.
The 2025 Wrapped listening window ran from January 1 to mid-November. Spotify says it uses that cutoff to check data and prepare the experience for launch. It also says it includes offline listening, filters some non-music tracks, and excludes Private Mode plays and listening excluded from a person’s Taste Profile from taste-based stories. Wrapped stories can use different metrics, so an artist rank, a song rank and a personal story should not be assumed to measure the same thing.

How to see your personal Spotify Wrapped 2025
Spotify said listeners needed at least 30 songs played for more than 30 seconds each and at least five different artists to qualify for a personalized 2025 Wrapped. Private Mode plays and content excluded from a listener’s Taste Profile did not count toward eligibility. Spotify’s 2025 Wrapped announcement said the experience was available in the mobile app for iOS and Android, for Free and Premium listeners in nearly all markets where Spotify operates.
- Open the Spotify app on iOS or Android.
- Look for the Wrapped feed at the top of Home, or search for “2025 Wrapped.”
- Open the personalized experience to view your listening stories and playlist.
Personal Wrapped features included listening minutes, top songs, artists, genres and podcasts, along with artist clips. New additions for 2025 included Top Albums, Listening Age, Top Song Quiz, Top Artist Sprint, Fan Leaderboard, Clubs and Wrapped Party. Listening Archive was available in English in select markets. These personal features are separate from Spotify’s global artist ranking.
