North American reporting described figures of Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, and Shadow, with a plastic ring and stickers. That promotion is historical; the available reporting does not establish that the toys are still offered.
What were the Sonic the Hedgehog 3 Happy Meal toys?
A McDonald’s campaign ad listing dated December 17, 2024, connected the promotion with the movie and used a “Team Sonic” theme. The listing is an advertising catalog entry, rather than a corporate press release. View the campaign ad listing.
A North American report published the same day described small, non-posable figures of four characters. Each figure could clip into a plastic ring that rolled along surfaces, and stickers were included to decorate the ring. Read the North American report.
Characters described in North American coverage
- Sonic
- Tails
- Knuckles
- Shadow
How did the toys differ by market?
A December 4, 2024 report about a McDonald’s Colombia commercial described 12 toy designs based on those four characters, with different expressions and poses. That count applies to the Colombia commercial’s assortment; it should not be taken as the North American toy count or a worldwide total. Read the Colombia commercial report.

When did the Sonic 3 Happy Meal toys come out?
McDonald’s advertising and contemporaneous coverage placed the movie tie-in in December 2024. The North American report said participating locations were expected to carry the toys that week, but that was a statement about the campaign at the time—not evidence of current availability.
Can you still get the toys with a Happy Meal?
The available sources do not establish a current McDonald’s offer or present-day stock. They document the 2024 promotion only. Current resale listings and availability have not been verified, so check with a local restaurant or a dated third-party listing if you are looking for a specific toy.

Is this the same as the 1994 Sonic 3 promotion?
No. The December 2024 toys promoted the Sonic the Hedgehog 3 movie. McDonald’s also had a separate promotion in 1994 for Sega’s Sonic the Hedgehog 3 video game; archival coverage of that older campaign is not evidence about the movie-tie-in toys. Read archival coverage of the 1994 game promotion.
