Spoiler warning: This subjective ranking covers the anime through Season 2, including major Season 1 turns. My top pick is the double dungeon’s statue turning toward the survivors: it makes the danger feel like a deliberate test, not just another monster fight. The ranking weighs character change, consequences, visual impact, and how well each moment pays off earlier setup. The source comic continues beyond the currently adapted episodes.
How this ranking works
“Best” is a judgment, not an official ranking or a claim about universal fan consensus. These four moments are memorable for different reasons: some change how we understand Jinwoo, while others make his growing power visible. A quiet or unsettling scene can outrank a larger battle when it carries more story weight.
The anime’s official synopsis sets the stakes: in a world of gates, hunters, and dungeon monsters, Jinwoo uniquely gains the ability to level up and eventually obtains the Shadow Monarch class. The adaptation is animated by A-1 Pictures; the official site credits Chugong, DUBU (REDICE STUDIO), and h-goon on the source work (official anime site).
Jin-woo’s four best anime scenes, ranked
1. The double dungeon statue turns toward the group
The changed expression on the statue is a small visual shift with enormous effect. Until then, a dungeon raid can seem like a familiar fight against monsters; the statue’s movement makes the space feel watchful and the danger feel governed by rules the hunters do not understand. It is the moment the story’s opening ordeal becomes a lethal test.

This ranks first for atmosphere and narrative consequence rather than action. It establishes the fear and uncertainty that shape Jinwoo’s choices later. Crunchyroll’s Season 1 scene feature also singles out the statue’s changed expression as a memorable beat (Crunchyroll’s Season 1 scene roundup).
2. The System demands that Jin-woo kill the surviving hunters
When the System orders Jinwoo to take out the surviving hunters who turned against him, his new power stops looking like a simple reward. The demand puts survival and morality in direct conflict: the threat is no longer only what lurks in a dungeon, but what the System may require of him.
The scene ranks above a more spectacular fight because it complicates the power-fantasy appeal and shows the cost of his new circumstances. Crunchyroll identifies the System’s demand and Jinwoo’s forced confrontation with the humans as a major Season 1 moment (Crunchyroll’s Season 1 scene roundup).
3. Jin-woo faces Igris in the job-change quest
The fight against Igris gives the audience a striking measure of Jinwoo’s progress without making the next step feel free. He has become far stronger than the hunter who entered the double dungeon, but Igris remains a formidable opponent. The contrast makes both his growth and the limits he still faces legible.
It earns third place for action and visual impact, with the added payoff of showing that advancement still has to be fought for. Crunchyroll calls the Igris battle a pivotal and impressively animated Season 1 moment (Crunchyroll’s Season 1 scene roundup).
4. Jin-woo says “Arise,” and Igris bows
After the job-change battle, Jinwoo’s command turns victory into a new kind of relationship: Igris rises as a shadow and pledges loyalty. The image of the knight bowing makes Jinwoo’s transformation tangible. He is no longer merely surviving stronger enemies; his power can change who stands beside him.
This is the ranking’s clearest payoff and a natural Season 1 culmination, but it comes fourth because the earlier scenes establish the fear, moral strain, and effort that give this triumph its force. Crunchyroll highlights the first “Arise” and Igris’s loyalty as an especially exciting payoff (Crunchyroll’s Season 1 scene roundup).

For anime episode context, consult the official Japanese site’s episode guide, which lists Season 2 titles as well as the series information (official anime site). The scene roundup cited above focuses on Season 1. The available evidence here does not establish episode numbers for the four scenes, so this ranking avoids assigning them specific episode numbers.

Its publisher synopsis covers Jinwoo’s early System, quests, and dungeon experiences; it is not a collection of every scene in an anime-to-full-series ranking.
What comes after Season 2?
The source comic continues beyond the anime episodes adapted so far, so this is not a ranking of every Jinwoo scene in the full story. The official Japanese anime site’s July 4, 2026 announcement says a theatrical film, Solo Leveling -Beyond the System-, entered production. The announcement does not establish a release date.
