Jason Warne shared family photographs and a personal tribute to his brother Shane on Instagram, PerthNow reported on 14 March 2022. The message mixed affection with memories of their sibling rivalry and family life, ending: “I am going to miss you, Chief.”
What Jason Warne shared
In its 14 March 2022 report, PerthNow said Jason Warne posted an emotional message and photographs of himself with Shane, as well as family images. Captions accompanying the report described childhood photographs with family and an image of Shane with their father, Keith; they credited Jason Warne. The captions do not establish the dates or full context of each photograph.

Jason’s message recalled the brothers competing with one another and spending time together over golf, poker and pizza. He also expressed pride in Shane, writing, “I have and always be your biggest fan, well aside from Dad.” That is the wording PerthNow reproduced.
The loss behind the tribute
PerthNow reported that Shane died following a heart attack at a villa in Thailand on 4 March 2022, aged 52. The report also noted his cricket career, recording 708 Test wickets (PerthNow, 2022).

The article is a contemporary account of Jason’s tribute, not the original Instagram post. Its closing line, as quoted by PerthNow, gives the message its intimate tone: “I am going to miss you, Chief.”
