What the Season 2 teaser reveals
Apple framed the teaser as a glimpse into mysteries ahead at Lumon. Its description—“Things look a little different around Lumon”—is a deliberate hook, not a detailed explanation of what has changed. The supported takeaway is broader: the characters’ actions have unsettled the conditions they knew at work, and the new season follows the consequences.

That reading is grounded in Apple’s Season 2 synopsis: “In season two, Mark and his friends learn the dire consequences of trifling with the severance barrier, leading them further down a path of woe.” Apple does not provide an official shot-by-shot explanation of the teaser, so individual images should not be treated as proof of a particular twist.
Why Lumon looks different
In the series, Lumon’s severance procedure surgically divides employees’ memories between their work and personal lives. The innie experiences the workplace, while the outie lives outside it without access to those work memories. Season 1’s breach puts that division—and the control it gives Lumon—under pressure.

So “different” is best understood as a setup for changed circumstances after the breach, rather than a confirmed explanation of a specific visual or new Lumon policy. Apple connects the season’s central stakes to tampering with the severance barrier; it has not publicly explained every teaser image.
What happens to Mark after the Season 1 finale?
Apple’s official description establishes that Mark and his friends will face consequences for crossing the severance barrier. It does not spell out exactly what happens to Mark, how Lumon responds, or how the innie and outie versions of the characters will fare. The teaser sets the conflict in motion without resolving those questions.

When did Severance Season 2 come out?
Apple scheduled Season 2 as a 10-episode season, premiering globally on Apple TV on January 17, 2025, with weekly episodes through March 21, 2025. The October 23, 2024 teaser was distinct from the full Season 2 trailer Apple announced later, on December 7, 2024, at CCXP24 in São Paulo.
