Full-season spoilers, including the finale. At Attin is a peaceful, highly ordered planet hidden from the wider galaxy by a Barrier—and the site of the last Old Republic Mint. In Skeleton Crew, the children’s discovery of that secret draws pirates to their home, while the old ship Onyx Cinder offers a way through the Barrier. The finale ends the immediate siege by destroying the Barrier, exposing At Attin to the galaxy.
What is At Attin?
At Attin is a quiet, orderly world whose citizens are served by droids. The Star Wars Databank describes it as “an orderly, peaceful world well attended to by service droids and diligent citizens.” That placid surface conceals the planet’s connection to a much larger history: it is the location of the last Old Republic Mint.
The contrast is central to the mystery. At Attin appears to be an ordinary, self-contained home, but its isolation has kept both its history and its value from the wider galaxy.
Why were the pirates looking for At Attin?
Captain Tak Rennod, an infamous pirate and former captain of the Onyx Cinder, left records that identify At Attin as the last Old Republic Mint. The episode 5 recap confirms the revelation and notes that the children find coordinates that can lead them home. A Mint gives the planet significance to pirates seeking its credits; the show’s recaps establish that motive without detailing the Mint’s original operation.

Jod uses that opportunity to reach the planet. After capturing the children, he poses as a Republic Emissary to gain access to the Mint. The official recap of episode 7 describes the Onyx Cinder as “no ordinary ship” and explains that it came from At Attin and is key to safely crossing the Barrier around the planet.
How does the Barrier protect At Attin?
The Barrier isolates At Attin from the rest of the galaxy. The Onyx Cinder’s connection to the planet makes it possible to pass through that boundary, which is why the ship matters both to the children’s journey home and to the pirates’ arrival. The recaps establish how the ship functions in the story, but do not explain who built the Barrier or how At Attin’s hidden society was founded.

What happens to At Attin in the finale?
After the Supervisor is deactivated, Jod takes command of the pirate threat. The children and their families decide that ending the danger means taking the risk of destroying the Barrier. Once it is gone, New Republic X-wings arrive and the pirates retreat. At Attin is no longer concealed from the galaxy, and the immediate invasion is over.

What does the show leave unexplained?
The series confirms At Attin’s identity as the last Old Republic Mint, but does not fully explain the Mint’s original purpose beyond minting Old Republic credits. It also leaves the planet’s founding and the other lost worlds associated with the mystery unresolved. Ideas about the Great Works, the Supervisor, or the origins of At Attin should be treated as speculation rather than established answers.
Jod survives the finale, according to Radio Times’ account of the ending. The season does not establish whether or when he will return.
