EPR Properties was the buyer named in the March announcement. Enchanted Parks and La Ronde Operations, Inc. were identified as operating partners; the announcement does not describe them as the purchaser. The U.S. parks closed together on April 6, while La Ronde’s separate Canadian transaction closed later, on May 15, according to Six Flags’ quarterly filing.
What did Six Flags announce about the sale?
Six Flags’ March 5 announcement put the consideration for the seven parks at $331 million in cash, subject to customary purchase-price adjustments. That is the announced transaction figure, not a confirmed final net proceeds amount. The company said after-tax proceeds, net of taxes and transaction expenses, would be used to pay down debt.

A separate SEC filing described the U.S. transaction as having an aggregate purchase price of $318,885,000 before specified adjustments. It also noted that La Ronde was covered by a separate agreement. These are differently scoped disclosures, so the U.S. figure should not be added to or substituted for the $331 million headline announced for the seven-park package.
For the year ended December 31, 2025, Six Flags reported that the seven parks together welcomed approximately 4.5 million guests, generated about $260 million in net revenue and recorded approximately $45 million in Adjusted EBITDA. These are company-reported figures for that full-year period.

Will a Six Flags pass or membership work at a sold park?
Six Flags said qualifying 2026 season passes and active memberships purchased before the sale would be honored at the sold parks through the 2026 operating season, including multi-park privileges. The company’s FAQ says memberships remain tied to the original home park and do not automatically transfer. It does not promise that access will continue after the 2026 season.
Other guest arrangements
- Six Flags said current Great Escape Lodge hotel reservations would be honored.
- Enchanted Parks is honoring drink plans. Six Flags said dining plans are not honored by Enchanted Parks and described refund eligibility and a deadline in its FAQ; guests should check the current official instructions for any applicable refund.
- Policies at the sold parks are now determined by their new operators. Six Flags’ FAQ says the new owners will decide the 2027 loyalty program.
Will the parks keep the Six Flags names?
Six Flags said EPR retained rights to use its brand through the end of 2026, subject to requirements, and its guest FAQ said park names would not change during 2026. The available terms do not establish what names, branding, pass access or operating policies will apply after that period. Those decisions should not be assumed settled until the operators announce them.

Why did Six Flags sell the parks?
Six Flags described the divestiture as part of a strategy to concentrate capital and operational attention on properties it believes offer stronger returns and long-term growth potential. That is the company’s stated rationale, not an independent finding about the sale’s eventual financial results.
