TLC’s announced Season 21 of Sister Wives will focus on Christine, Janelle and Meri, rather than Kody Brown and Robyn Brown. The network says the series will do this “for the first time in 16 years,” with the season set to premiere October 4, 2026. That is a major change in the show’s focus—but it does not confirm that Robyn and Kody currently live together, explain why they are not the season’s focus, or prove that Robyn’s life is “not better.”
What TLC has announced for Season 21
In its September 14, 2026 announcement, TLC said Season 21 will center on Christine, Janelle and Meri as they move forward with one another and their individual love lives. The network’s phrasing—“For the first time in 16 years, Sister Wives will only focus on Christine, Janelle, and Meri”—describes the season’s focus, not a confirmed explanation for Kody and Robyn’s absence. TLC has not said in that announcement whether either will appear in a later season.

The announced premiere date is October 4, 2026. Because television schedules can change, check TLC’s current listings for the latest broadcast information. TLC’s official Sister Wives page includes series and episode information.
How the show’s focus changed from Season 20
TLC’s August 21, 2025 Season 20 description presented the family after multiple relationship breakups. It said Kody was struggling with the fractured family and wanted to move from the home he shared with Robyn, while Robyn remained committed to plural marriage and Kody questioned its future. Those details describe the season’s storyline; they are not independent reporting on the couple’s present home or relationship.

The network’s series page has also described an earlier shift as “For the first time, it’s just Kody and Robyn,” and listed an episode called “Why I Want To Be a Monogamist,” in which the pair discussed their newfound monogamy. Taken together, TLC’s descriptions show how the program’s attention has moved: Season 20 covered Kody and Robyn navigating monogamy after the other relationships ended, while the announced Season 21 centers on Christine, Janelle and Meri.
Does Robyn live alone with Kody now?
The available TLC material does not establish where Robyn or Kody currently lives. Season 20’s description says Kody wanted to move from the home he shared with Robyn; it does not confirm that a move happened, where either person lives now, or whether they live together. So “living alone with Kody” should be treated as headline framing, not a verified current living arrangement.
Rank #2
Is Robyn’s life “not better”?
That is a judgment, not a fact established by TLC’s season announcements. The network’s descriptions provide context about the show’s portrayal of the family’s changing relationships, but they do not assess whether Robyn’s life is better or worse. A change in the series’ focus alone cannot establish how she feels about her life or relationship.
Quick Recap
What the season change does—and does not—tell viewers
- It does tell viewers: TLC plans to focus Season 21 on Christine, Janelle and Meri, and announced an October 4, 2026 premiere.
- It does not tell viewers: why TLC chose that focus, whether Kody or Robyn will appear later, or what the couple’s current living arrangement is.
- It does not establish: whether Robyn’s life is better or worse. That conclusion would require evidence beyond the season announcement.
