What was the SEL Paris presentation?
People CHICA reports that the presentation took place on September 28, 2019, a couple of blocks from the Champs-Élysées, in partnership with Higher Dining. The profile describes it as Henriquez’s first time showing in Paris. Guests included VIP ticket holders and general-admission attendees; the event featured hors d’oeuvres, champagne, and CBD-infused cocktails. Henriquez explained her approach simply: “I wanted to make it an experience.”
What was the Exposé collection about?
Henriquez described Exposé as a study in revealing the body while retaining elegance: “Exposé is about being able to display parts of a woman’s body in a provocative yet elegant way.” That concept framed the Paris presentation, according to her interview with People CHICA.

What is the Tinikini?
The 2019 People CHICA profile calls the Tinikini Henriquez’s take on the classic string bikini and describes it as exceptionally small. It reported that celebrities including Saweetie and Winnie Harlow had worn the style and that it sold out when restocked at the time. Those statements describe the profile’s 2019 reporting; they do not establish whether the Tinikini is currently sold, what it costs now, or whether it remains available. A generic micro string bikini is a category example, not a Tinikini or SEL product.
Representation and sizing
Henriquez spoke about the obstacles of representation in fashion and her effort to cast Black and Latina models. “The standard of a model is not my standard,” she said. She also discussed customer requests for broader sizing. Her reference to a larger size range concerned a future collection in 2019; the interview does not establish the brand’s current sizing or whether that plan came to fruition.

What advice did she give emerging designers?
Henriquez’s advice was to invest in themselves, keep making work, and continue after setbacks. Her account of the manufacturing hurdle and the stylist’s encouragement illustrates the persistence behind that advice: the path from custom commissions to an original collection required both a creative direction and the resolve to keep pursuing it.
