Her neighbor Cecilie, au pair Angel and investigator Aicha each become involved in uncovering what happened. The limited series premiered globally on Netflix on May 15, 2025.
Secrets We Keep summary: What is the series about?
Ruby’s disappearance is the starting point for a mystery that moves through the wealthy neighborhood where she worked. Cecilie, her neighbor, suspects that something has happened to Ruby and begins looking for answers. Angel, Cecilie’s au pair, investigates rumors circulating among au pairs, while newly minted investigator Aicha works on a case initially treated as a low priority.
As their efforts converge, the investigation brings the neighborhood’s class divisions and unequal power into view. The case also reaches into Cecilie’s family life, challenging her assumptions about the people around her and the environment in which she is raising her children. The result is a crime drama with a social focus on privilege, care work and what can be hidden behind polished homes.
