Grace O’Marcaigh’s civil lawsuit alleges that Christian Combs sexually assaulted her aboard a yacht during a December 2022 trip. The complaint also names his father, Sean Combs. These are allegations, not findings of fact. The case was moved from Los Angeles Superior Court to federal court in 2025; a docket tracker updated August 20, 2026, lists a renewed motion to dismiss as pending after O’Marcaigh filed an opposition on August 14.
What does the lawsuit accuse Christian Combs of?
O’Marcaigh, who worked as a crew member and bartender on the yacht, alleges that Christian Combs assaulted her during a December 2022 trip. The Associated Press reported on April 6, 2024, that the complaint says he pressured her to drink tequila she believed was spiked, groped her, and attempted to force her to perform oral sex. Why is Sean Combs also named?
The complaint also accuses Sean Combs of creating circumstances that led to the alleged assault and of paying to cover it up afterward, according to the AP. Those claims against him are allegations as well. A defense representative told The Charlotte Post in April 2024, “We will be filing a motion to dismiss this outrageous claim.” Associated Press report; The Charlotte Post, April 11, 2024.
Where was the case filed, and what is its status?
The action began in Los Angeles Superior Court under case number 24STCV08571. On April 24, 2025, the defendants removed it to the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California, where it is case number 2:25-cv-03650. Case docket mirror.

According to Dr. Docket’s tracker, updated August 20, 2026, the court on March 31, 2026, granted Sean Combs’s motion to dismiss for lack of personal jurisdiction, with leave to amend. The court denied jurisdictional discovery and denied the defendants’ motion challenging whether the complaint stated a claim without prejudice. The tracker then lists a defense motion to dismiss the first amended complaint filed June 29, 2026, followed by O’Marcaigh’s opposition on August 14. What the court rulings do—and do not—mean
The March 2026 order addressed personal jurisdiction and pleading issues. It did not determine whether the alleged assault occurred. A ruling about whether a court has jurisdiction over a defendant is distinct from a finding on the truth of a plaintiff’s allegations; likewise, the tracker’s description of the pleading ruling is not a decision on the merits. The latest status cited here comes from a docket tracker rather than the court itself, and it lists no outcome after the August 14, 2026 opposition.
