Yes. Sarah Michelle Gellar joined Dexter: Original Sin as a special guest star, and Paramount Global Content lists her character as Tanya Martin. The prequel is set in 1991 Miami and follows a young Dexter Morgan as he begins a forensics internship at Miami Metro Police Department.
Who does Sarah Michelle Gellar play?
Paramount’s September 12, 2024, casting announcement identifies Gellar as a special guest star but does not name her character. Paramount Global Content’s title listing identifies her as Tanya Martin. These sources establish both her guest-star status and the character name, but the original announcement itself does not connect the name to the casting notice.

What is Dexter: Original Sin about?
The series takes place in 1991 Miami, before the events of the original Dexter. Dexter is moving from student life toward becoming an avenging serial killer, and he starts a forensics internship at Miami Metro Police Department. His father, Harry, guides him as Dexter develops a code meant to direct his violence toward people he believes deserve to be eliminated while avoiding law enforcement’s attention. That is the show’s fictional premise, not an endorsement of violence.
