The red-carpet dress: Roberto Cavalli Spring/Summer 2025
Vogue identified Cyrus’s carpet gown as a Roberto Cavalli Spring/Summer 2025 ready-to-wear design by creative director Fausto Puglisi. Its black leather cutouts form layered, wing-like shapes across the floor-length silhouette, while a floaty tulle train flares toward a mermaid-style hem. Vogue reported that Eva Herzigova wore the design on the runway. Vogue’s account of Cyrus’s SNL50 look and Marie Claire’s identification of the gown credit the same collection.
Cyrus wore black Paris Texas lace-up sandals with the dress. Marie Claire names the style as the “Liz” lace-up satin sandal. She arrived with her mother, Tish Cyrus, and boyfriend, Maxx Morando, according to Vogue.
How the carpet gown differs from her stage dress
The two black Cavalli looks are easy to conflate, but they are different garments from different collections. Cyrus changed before performing: her red-carpet gown was from Spring/Summer 2025, while her stage dress was an archival Spring/Summer 2004 piece. Vogue and Marie Claire identify the older dress; Teen Vogue describes it as a high-neck gown with leather cutouts, fringe, and a feathered hem.

SNL50: The Homecoming Concert took place at Radio City Music Hall in New York on February 14, 2025. Can you buy the dress?
The coverage identifies the runway design but does not establish that the original gown is currently for sale. No specific retailer listing or current stock for the Cavalli dress or the Paris Texas sandals is confirmed here. Searches such as “black leather cutout maxi dress” may surface inspired-by alternatives, but a similar-looking item is not the Roberto Cavalli original. The archival 2004 stage dress is a distinct vintage piece; no current resale listing or availability is established.
